A résumé explains where someone has worked. A portfolio can also make an engineering decision tangible. This site uses a small pipeline simulator to put validation, quarantine and safe replay in a visitor’s hands.
The lab processes six synthetic events using a deterministic TypeScript function. The table shows the actual result of each run. There is no live employer dataset behind the screen and no invented throughput counter.
One visual idea, carried through.
The visual system treats data engineering as a physical instrument: structured chambers, clear boundaries and a blue stream moving through them. The main artwork was created with AI image generation. The interactive architecture is authored in Three.js, with interface labels and controls in ordinary HTML.
The conceptual artwork creates the atmosphere. The lab and case studies explain the actual work. Separating those roles makes the site more useful to both a curious visitor and a hiring manager looking for evidence.
Keep the expensive part optional.
The 3D scene loads as its section approaches the viewport. It limits pixel density and animation frequency, stops rendering when the section is out of view, and supplies a simplified view when WebGL is unavailable.
A motion control and the operating system’s reduced-motion preference govern decorative animation. Navigation, the résumé and the technical content remain ordinary page elements.
Give people something worth returning for.
The field notes answer specific engineering questions. Each note connects to a project or experiment that makes the concept concrete. The simulator can share a scenario link, so another visitor can start from the same problem.
Searchable text, descriptive page titles, canonical URLs, structured metadata and a sitemap support discovery. The lasting reason to visit is the useful material itself.
Put the portfolio to the test.
Run the same batch twice. Change the input contract. Follow the source links in the case studies. The interesting part is what happens next.
